Overview

The INdustrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability by repairing and maintaining a wide range of processing equipment across the plant.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and food-safety by following all company, OSHA, and government rules and procedures including; Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety, and food safety/SQF Program standards;
  • Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime;
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment to include; PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control systems;
  • Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted;
  • Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders and detailed logs;
  • Assist with equipment change overs and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed;
  • Identify required parts and maintain current inventories, and parts reorder lists;
  • Act with a Continuous Improvement mindset seeking areas of opportunity for improvement and participating in cross-functional CI focused projects;
  • Repair sinks, hoses, water lines, toilets, and plumbing equipment;
  • Maintain wheels on racks, tubs, transits and ensure they are greased and in good working order;
  • Complete all building repairs; maintain walls, ceilings, and floors in good repair;
  • Contact refrigeration contractor when needed for maintenance or repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC system is needed;
  • Assist with installation of new equipment;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’ degree in related field (technical or vocational education) highly preferred but not required;
  • Minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience or 5 years related trade experience required;
  • Working knowledge of electrical, motor controls, main distribution, process control, wiring and components.
  • Maintenance Technician certification highly desired;
  • Six months or more of experience in the food processing/manufacturing preferred;
  • Proficient in use of basic machine tools and hand tools;
  • Proficient in use of basic electrical trouble-shooting equipment;
  • Ability to read specifications and pay attention to detail;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
