Overview

The Quality Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our food safety and quality programs, as well as manage the Quality Team.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's food safety plans and programs in alignment with SQF/FDA/USDA requirements;
  • Oversee the daily operation of the SQF system, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations;
  • Perform quality inspections on all equipment and related items to ensure proper functioning and adherence to quality standards;
  • Conduct comprehensive annual HACCP assessments, including program review, functional audits, and risk assessments;
  • Manage internal document control, ensuring proper sign-off and control of all relevant documents;
  • Coordinate employee training processes, working closely with the management team to ensure successful completion and implementation of required training;
  • Facilitate regular SQF meetings with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams to discuss system updates, improvements, and address any concerns;
  • Lead and support customer, SQF, and regulatory audits, including internal audits, and ensure timely closure of any identified non-conformances;
  • Conduct traceability exercises with cross-functional teams to verify product traceability and recall readiness;
  • Create and implement programs to achieve compliance and growth in line with regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements;
  • Manage the Quality team with tasks such conducting team training, updating SOPs, and maintaining the safety chain based on customer requirements.
  • Analyze and release customer-specific Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction;
  • Manage the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), working with cross-functional teams from awareness to resolution;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • HACCP, PCQI and GFSI certified;
  • Knowledge of and responsible for policies, programs and procedures to support compliance of FDA’s FSMA regulations, GFSI standards to maintain SQF certification;
  • Ability to understand and execute a variety of regulatory and company procedures and policies;
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting;
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to effectively manage supervisors and employees;
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff;
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
